Hello Church Family.
This is my formal introduction to the "BLOG". I first heard of the word "BLOG" a couple of months ago, I must live under a rock. Never read one, certainly have never written one. I feel as if I should be in some trendy coffee shop wearing thick black glasses with no vision enhancing lenses, with laptop on table, and some blue tooth device dangling from my ear... all the while as I get gouged for an overpriced cup of coffee with no-fat whip cream on it. However, I find myself in what looks to be a junkyard of tools, out-dated church room signs, and the smell of sawdust... oh yes, back to reality, I am in the office I share with another staff member that also doubles as an all church storage room!
The point, which will soon be made, is to give all who are interested a weekly or bi-monthly update on the progression of the building project here at church. A little humor will be mixed with information and will hopefully be swallowed with little or no pain... perhaps it may even be palatable.
Heavy machinery and men with hard hats have been in full force since Monday, April 14th. The plan in the next few weeks is to move and reset modular units, start excavation of Northwest parking lot, clear the site for the building pad, set new power pole and excavation for primary to new power transformer. Exciting, hey?
Parking and traffic flow will be an item of great importance in the weeks to come. Many don’t give much thought to traffic unless we are STUCK in it, or unless our names are Johnny Rowland or Shelli Lockhart. Not one person I know looks forward to the time when their toilet or sink becomes backed up. And certainly none will want to be stuck in church traffic when the ball game is on at noon. So the need for traffic flow is important. Traffic attendants ("traffic cops" would sound cooler) will help with traffic flow. The Northwest parking lot will be off limits this week. Shuttles will be in full force for many Sundays to come. If you plan on dropping off any car-poolers, please do so under the main canopy and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE travel from east to west and avoid unnecessary congestion as this will become a ONE WAY. Top five places to park at church are:
1. Temporary Lot north of youth lodge.
2. Lower lot by dumpster and amphitheater (sounds pretty backwoods when we suggest you park by the church dumpster).
3. Southeast lot closest to 103rd St.
4. Residential lot owned by the church Southwest of church offices.
5. On either side of 103rd St.
Being a brand new "blogger", I am not sure on blog etiquette. How long should "blogs" be? How are you to end a blog? Do you have to say something cool like Later Gator, or Live, Love, Laugh or some catchy phrase to end a blog??? I do not know. So we will end like this.
Enjoy the information. I hope it was not too much or too little, but just right!
