Needs and Vision

God is blessing our church with exciting growth! The sanctuary can handle this growth, but all our other ministry spaces are at or beyond their limited capacity. Our vision is to fill our 1,000-seat sanctuary by ensuring that every area of Evangel Temple can also grow to handle a congregation of that size.

Early Childhood

Our nursery size has more than doubled over the last 3 years, and we’ve had to expand the space 3 different times. The remodeling plan will expand the current nursery into the current fellowship hall and kitchen. This new design accommodates 125 pre-school children in an environment that is safe, stimulating and age appropriate, so Evangel Temple can continue to meet the needs of growing families.

Children’s Area

Our children’s program doesn’t lack excitement, but it does lack space! Wednesday night attendance tripled in the last 3 years, and more classrooms are needed to handle this and the growth of Sunday morning activities. We also need to improve the security of this area for our kids. The new building will offer 12 classrooms, which will accomodate 180 students on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. A new system for easy and secure check-in and check-out will also be set up. The children’s worship space will be significantly upgraded, and a separate game area will be created. Our kids will have a new area that is stimulating and technologically up-to-date.

Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF)

The ABF program has stretched beyond our building’s capacity. Every classroom space is used on Sunday mornings—with 4 of the 6 classes meeting in modular buildings purchased just to handle the growth. Currently, we can only welcome 305 adults to ABF. But the new building will provide 10 ABF classrooms, allowing us to have more than 525 adults in classes on Sunday mornings.

Choir Room

Our music department is growing—at a rate of almost 10% each year. But while there are 58 choir members, our choir room and loft only seat 53. The new choir room will be built to seat 90 as well as an expansion of the choir loft to match as part of the remodel.

Fellowship Hall

As a result of our lack of space, many church events have either moved to other locations or we have had to limit attendance. Our new building will include a fellowship hall built with movable walls, giving us three seating options: space for 110, 210, or 375. The result will be a relaxed, flexible gathering space to meet the needs of our growing departments.

Coffee Shop/Bistro

The new building will include a full-service coffee bar, bistro and Wi-Fi hotspot. A great place to meet and relax before and after services, this space will seat up to 75 and can also be used to provide simple meals or host class and department social events.

Foyer space

In our foyer, narrow hallways make access to the parking lot tricky, and tables for event sign-up and visitor information make our open space crowded. Our new building will include a large open foyer, and the remodeling phase will extend the foyer from the new building into our current building. Some classrooms off of our current foyer will also have walls removed, creating additional space.

Restrooms

Our new building will increase the number of restrooms for men and women. Long-term remodeling plans also include adding restrooms on the southwest side of the foyer for convenient access from the sanctuary.

Library

After the remodel, our libraries will move from their current location in classrooms off of the foyer. The new library space in the upper foyer will provide couches and chairs for people as they read and study.

Parking lot

Our current parking lots only accommodate 600 people, but our new parking lots will include spaces for roughly 750 people, expanding our ability to handle parking for on-site events and for Sundays when we have a full sanctuary and children’s department. Plans for additional parking are in development.
